Your customers are your business. Performance monitoring performs the vital task of helping you to understand how they are experiencing your services and applications over the internet - from the user's point of view.

To understand how your online systems are performing you have to take a look at how an end user actually experiences your application in a real life environment. Qualica's suite of performance monitoring solutions provides all the tools for you to measure, quantify and then improve the end user experience.

 

The core value add of the Qualica Performance Monitoring toolset is that we focus specifically on the end user's experience of the application, rather than monitoring the individual system components. Traditional network monitoring systems tell you whats going on, from the inside out. Qualica's Performance Monitoring toolsets monitor from the outside in, giving you a true understanding of what end users actually experience.

 

Qualica offers three performance monitoring solution sets, each with a sub-set of products that can be used individually or in combination. Each of these services is designed to notify you of faults, to identify the extent of the fault and to provide information to support quick remediation. Advanced functionality allows you to measure the impact of changes made and to monitor trends over time. They are also ideal for managing third-party suppliers. These solution sets are:

 

Transactional Application Monitoring
Determines how applications perform for end users, depending on where they are and how they connect. The solution also monitors pure application performance via a local collectors situated as close to the application as possible to eliminate network affects and to provide a benchmark for comparison relative to the location of a user.


High Frequency Application Monitoring
Determines whether sites are available or not, and how they are performing. The solution conducts a limited set of user actions on a site-very frequently, from devices deployed around South Africa and around the world.

Throughput and Latency Monitoring
Determines how the underlying network infrastructure is performing. The solution conducts specific TCP/IP tests from two or more locations on a network, wide-area network or the Internet.

In the real world, users connect to your application through a multitude of different types of connectivity, using ISP's from all around the country and the world. In addition, there are users from your own WAN and LAN.

Qualica deploys UEM collectors, these are hardware devices that simulate the actions of users on your application via the connectivity and ISP's that your users typically use. These tests can be run from around South Africa and possibly the world.

The collectors then reports the collected metrics to a central management server, where, via a web interface, you can view your sites performance and availability. Alerts based on user experience thresh-holds are then generated and sent to you.
