Many companies implement internal monitoring solutions on their networks to evaluate the performance of their websites. However, these solutions are not able to take into account many of the factors that may impact the end user experience. These factors include geographical location, the type of connectivity being used by customers and the bandwidth provided by the Internet service providers (ISPs). Qualica's user experience monitoring solution takes these factors into account by using servers which test websites hourly from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, the United Kingdom and the United States across different types of connectivity, namely dial-up, ADSL and leased lines, using various Internet service providers. User actions are performed against the application and the performance of the application is measured. One or more additional probes are placed behind the company's firewall to perform identical tests internally, and provide a true application performance benchmark. The results from the external and internal probes are then compared to analyse where the problems that affect end user experience may be, and how to go about resolving them.


The Web application monitoring product uses active tests to simulate your users in the real world. The tool uses the same connectivity and the same browsers as your users to allow you to quantify the experience your users get when using your systems.
